I recieved a message in my bulk folder from the sender
(<mailto:mailman-owner at>mailman-owner at

The text of the message is:
This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your mailing
list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how to use
it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example,
<>mailman-request at
containing just the
word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to
you with instructions.

If you have questions, problems, comments, etc, send them to
<>mailman-owner at

<<passwords snipped>>
I believe this is a scam but wanted to confirm it with you.

This is a legitimate e-mail sent out by the Mailman mailing list software
that we use to run the mailing lists now.

You'll need the password information to be able to access your subscription.

You will receive this message once a month, in case you misplace your
passwords or the web address. If it annoys you, there is an option in the
web pages for turning it off.

E-mail me at <moderator at> if you have any questions.
