There had been some discussion over on the steam freight car list regarding the Sunshine Models resin kit of the N&W G-1 gondola; one of the list contributors indicated one of the prototypes still existed and took some photos, the links of which are below.

Just thought some of you might be interested in this freight car stuff.

N&W 99984 photographed at SERM this past weekend:

As the car looked in the mid-60's:

And a question: Is it "G-1", or "G1"? The N&W stenciled 99984 and noted the
archive images "G1", which I presume is correct. If SPF's can be finicky about
the use of "-", so should N&W fans. <vbg>

I would like to finish a Sunshine (12 Series) N & W G-1 Gondola kit, road
#99000-99999 & 99500-90999, this weekend. The Virginian G-5, road #22000-22099,
is for all intent purposes the same prototype. To accurately do so I need a I
need a B end photo. Does anyone have a B end photo of either prototype that they
can share, or can someone point me to a book or web site that has the info. As
always, any and all help is appreicated.
