For modern kits, I don't mind assembly as it's pretty simple and they
usually go together well. I'm not a fan of some older kits like the
die-cast frame roundhouse VGN hoppers I picked up which require 20 minutes
of file work to clean up and fit together for each car, plus painting the
frames. I'd still be willing to pay an extra $5/car for pre-assembled just
so I can spend the time on the project backlog I already have rather than
adding to it, though.
