$2. It’s very rare for an assembled RTR car to meet my needs. I have paid for RTR and often have to fiddle with it ( change the weigh date, add or remove specific period detail). If I mess up the paint, it’s really problematic to match. There’s only so many opportunities to ‘weather the heck out of it’ to cover such mistakes.
I’m just picky and more of a modeler than an operator. I’d pay $5 for accurate unpainted versions relative to RTR.
