I'm mainly 2-rail O scale but a friend has got me interested some 3-rail, mainly old Lionel. That said, some of the Lionel scale offerings are really nice. I have an N&W round roof boxcar converted to 2-rail. Also have a number of covered hoppers, several PS5 gondolas, and even an 86 ft hi-cube boxcar to convert.Sometimes when I just want to see trains run and have some smoke around, I run one of my older Lionels.Last year I wrote an article for the NYCSHS e-zine New York Central Modeler on converting a Lionel PS1 boxcar from 3R to 2R using the new Kadee trucks and bolster. The e-zine is free for anyone to look at. It was maybe the summer or fall issue 2024 that it was in.

I forgot to clarify that I model in HO, it was off the back of discussion of recent HO model release so that is my excuse...
I'd guess most who gave eras were in HO also, I saw a couple of members call out O scale and Rudy clarifying he is HO reaffirmed my mistake.
So to clarify: I model N&W and VGN in 1953-6 in HO scale.
