Charles (Larry) Lawrence Schlotthober, III, age 77, and Ellen Parrish Schlotthober, age 76, both of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Charles was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 4, 1948, and was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Willy Schlotthober. He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was also a Fireman on the 611, a model train painter, helped with the NWHS Archives, and always willing to help do or fix anything. He loved doing everything possible with Ellen by his side.
Ellen was born in Roanoke, Virginia on October 28, 1948, and was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mable Parrish. She was a retired teacher where she taught children with learning disabilities. She also quilted, knitted and could mend anything. She had a love for trains, being at the creek, and also loved doing everything possible with Charlie by her side.
They are both survived by their daughters, Jessie and Carrie Schlotthober; Charles' sisters and brother, Joyce Murray, Peggy Payne and Nathan Schlotthober; grandchildren, Jovie Underwood and Astin Schlotthober; as well as numerous other family members.
There will be no service or viewing.
