Helix humpers for Bowser locomotives

[NW Modeling List]

Hello all,
I am looking for information related to the original RS3's that were
delivered to the N&W in 1955.  Specifically my question is related to the
grab irons on the end of the long and short hoods.  Did the original
locomotives have these grab irons?  I have 2 Bowser RS3's that I have
disassembled and stripped ready for the black paint.  Before I paint them I
am looking to see if they were delivered with those grab irons.  Thank you
