I didn't pre-order the N&W cabin cars due to their poor customer response and delivery on prior B&O cabooses from Spring Mills. Those have been promised WAY BEFORE the N&W cars by years. I know a couple folks who did receive a refund from these guys on their B&O cars though.
I'm glad I avoided dealing with these guys long on excuses but poor on production. I managed to buy one of the B&O I-12 bay window cars and it was pretty magnificent in every way on feebay.
IF and WHEN the CF ever gets produced I'm sure it will be spectacular but, like you said,  I don't think I'll live long enough to ever see it. I'm 74 and have been anxiously awaiting the B&W cabs for over 13-14 years.
I get yelled at for saying this as many are so sympathetic about their production issues but it seems to me if there's several items promised ahead of the N&W car that are still not available and with the tons of lame excuses they rarely put out I'd look in to transferring these projects to another more reliable manufacturer who could get them produced. I look at the numerous items cranked out by other great firms like Rapido, Atlas, Athearn, Bowser and Bachmann and wonder about all the SMD excuses.
Just my 2¢.

I have been asking around for years. With all the Lionel , MTH and 3rd Rail 2-8-8-2s out there surely the 3 rail market would support such a project as well.?Tom LewisOn Aug 5, 2024, at 1:09 PM, NW Modeling List <nw-modeling-list at nwhs.org> wrote:?We had put this out on the Virginian IO Group, but thought it worth putting on this group also:The NWHS Modeling Committee is working to get some more N&W/VGN specific or special models produced.? The Society needs good information to justify the investment of members' money.???We are working to produce a typical--meaning working off "standard" drawings--for a Virginian medium sized station, utilizing the station at Purdy VA as a start.? We are working with a laser kit manufacturer who does high quality work--we've seen the models he has done for other societies.? Estimated price is appropriate for a model of this quality done in limited quantity.? We will be including information as to history, modification for similar Virginia structures, etc, and painting suggestions.???So to cut to the chase, we'd like to know who would be interested in such a model, HO, Virginian station, retail in the $80-90 ballpark, hopefully 10% NWHS member discount.? No hard commitment, no deposit.? Just if you'd be likely to purchase such a model at that price.???Please send your responses, and comments if any, to:? vansconf at yahoo.comFrank Bo
