Tuscan paint

Ken,
You are absolutely correct and I do not mean to detract from your
warning/advice in any way shape or form. However, I have shot auto paints
before using a 2-stage activated carbon filtering respirator and face
shield. This PPE coupled with the fact that I always worked outside
(plenty of ventilation) and was using a small model airbrush which could
only produce a small amount of aerosol, left me feeling fairly comfortable
about exposure. Couldn't smell any of it with the respirator on. On the
other hand, someone who paints cars for a living is in and enclosed spray
room using a fairly high capacity gun and so the atmosphere will be filled
with particulate and without a full body suit, I am sure it would get all
over any exposed skit and also into unprotected orifices.
So, just to reiterate, I totally agreed that solvents used for auto paint
are nasty, nasty critters that should not be inhaled in any quantities or
left on the skin for any length of time.
Your concern is greatly appreciated,
Jim
