How to derail a G-1 class

You would be surprised at what a train will go over. Once was conductor on a short train of 9 high-cube boxcars. Heard a bang as the engine went over the rails but we kept on going and put the train away. Went back to see what it might have been and found about a 30" section of rail had broken away. The cars went off the end of one rail, into the dirt and came up on the other rail. Amazed me!. We were only doing about 10 MPH.
