Ho scale 611 in the 1950s

Actually , the location of the bell on the 611 is the original location.  The earlier engines had the bells on top of the boilers and they were later relocated, but 611-613 always had thier bells mounted behind the steps as it currently is.  Some of the war-time engines may have had the bells mounted low when they were streamlined the first time but I don't recall and don't have any of my books close by. During the last days of original service some of the covers were removed for easier access to stuff on top of the boiler. Bev Fitzpatrick was the Executive Director of VMT. At this point it was the property of the museum.
