Can someone tell me if it’s possible to just get the decal removed and have a realistic model of 611 in the 50s?
Sincerely
Jeff Mueller

Other than the one they list as excursion or railfan version, any of them would be correct for revenue service. Since 611 wasn't built until 1950, that number as the in-service version would work for what you want. Other than the Spirit Of Roanoke graf, er, I mean decal, the major differences you will see on most models are the twin seal beam headlight and glossier paint on the excursion version vs the single large headlight and slightly duller paint on the in service versions. I'm not familiar enough with MTH's offerings to know if they did 611 as an in service version or not. They insist on putting their DCS in all of their steam, and I'm not interested in it.

I have a MTH model of 611 however it has The Sprint Of Roanoke decal on it. I’m wondering if I could get that decal removed and have a restiv model of her in the 50s or if I’d need to have anything else done to the model such as added if details or removing slash modifying details? I’m not interested brass at this time and I don’t want the Bachman model as I know it is very incorrect. Thank you for the information and the advice ahead of time I look forward to hearing from the group about this subject.
