Spring Mills N&W Caboose

Not only does Spring Mills take a long time to deliver, but they were one of the companies affected by the Chinese factory closure. My understanding is they have a new factory, and all projects will be delivered, but they may not be delivered in the order they were announced. My experience with them is the best way to get a reply is to talk to them at a train show they are attending. If there is not one near you, perhaps someone else on this list lives in a town they will be visiting and can ask for the whole Society.

They are an informal company to be sure, but not dishonest, and I've never had the impression they were on the verge of going out of business and taking their customers' money with them. I wanted some parts from them a few years ago, and was told in person at a show to just keep emailing every couple of weeks, and hopefully he would receive one of the emails when he was home and had time to run to the parts bin. At this point I just accept they are who they are, and they will deliver in a manner that makes the other manufacturers look like they are ahead of schedule, but that there is nothing to worry about. I understand the frustrations and concerns, and can't tell anyone else what to do with their money, but I'm content to wait.

The lists, however, will only benefit a few and is also a free service which we are glad to supply. Also remember that this convention was "dumped" on Ken, Frank and myself as the original chairman and co-chairman vacated their positions and left the society. We are proud to do the work but we also have other society matters to handle along with our home life and day jobs.
