I had contacted/emailed Spring Mills Depot a couple times in the past, interested in some of their upcoming projects and submitted an order form, but never got any response or acknowledgement from them that they received it. The models on their website look like they have lots of potential and I hope they all move forward.

I realize them doing this part time is challenging but if they don’t reach back to customers, they’ll lose them.

No mention of anything N&W on their website dated 7/11/2017. There are also 3 MAJOR projects still waiting to be delivered. They have been working on them for over a year and they are optimistically saying delivery in 2017. Like I said before, this is just two guys and they aren't fast with the introduction of their fine cars. They are Chinese products and so many outside variables are involved here. Personally, especially since they haven't formally announced them, from past offerings I wouldn't expect them before 2019. Not being ugly or negative but past releases have taken forever to show up. Go check the B&O Group on yahoo.

Whatever the wait time I can guarantee they will be well worth the waiting period! I'm a devout brass guy and I sold all my brass B&O cabooses and N-34 covered hoppers when the SMD cars arrived. So much finer!

Subject: Spring Mills Depot announces CF, CG, CH, C2, C-10, C-10a, C-30, and C-30a models at NWHS convention

Given the recent postings regarding the desire for caboose models I’m surprised someone has not mentioned the product announcement made at the convention. Spring Mills Depot (SMD) announced they are going to produce highly accurate HO models of the CF, CG, CH, C2, C-10, C-10a, C-30, and C-30a with paint ranging from as-built to the last N&W block letter scheme. NWHS member Steve Smith and I have been working with this manufacturer for around two years to get to this point, and Steve started the announcement with a summary of the extensive effort that has gone into assembling accurate prototype information. The inspiration for the work came from the Bowers / Brewer caboose book, the rich set of available drawings in the archives, and a personal desire on our part to have models available. SMD plans on having the project details posted to their web site by the end of this month. There will be LOTS of specific models to choose from including most of the roads that obtained second hand N&W cabs. I’m not going to pre-empt the formal product launch on the web site by going into more details here so I encourage you to look for the product to go live on the web soon. While you wait, go check out their B&O cab models, they are stunning!
