Virginian ?

Sam: Both SA's numbers 2 and 4 had black painted smokeboxes.  Number 4 has had a silver painted smokebox since it has been in the VTM  but such paint is incorrect. Harold

 What about the #4 when she ran in Suffolk?  I have forgotten the Engineers name for the moment, but he did mount stars on the front of the cylinders and a few other adornments.

I asked this on the other forum and didn’t get any answer. Surely there are Virginians on the forum.Did the Virginian 0-8-0 have graphite smokebox fronts? I can only find photos of the painted all black. Any help would be greatly appreciated .Stephen Rineair
