Please see the article "The Painting of N&W Depots," in the Arrow , November/December 1997.  This should provide some guidance for the various schemes used by N&W.

For 1940-48 use buff and brown or cream and brown. Do not use Green and white. They are much later.

correct for?  I'm interested in about 1940-1948, and at least one 
station I know of on my short line (the Danville & Western) was jointly 
owned by the D&W and the N&W.  It would be nice to know what color to 
paint the depot.
