Jim – really good information and enjoyed the article from Country Living Magazine. Thank you for the response. This thread has been fun to revisit and recall a few southern Ohio “images” – something this site often does so well . . . .

I actually happened to meet and visit with Paul Busse at a Garden Rwy “show” awhile back, I had no idea his work was so broad – he was a very modest man!

Bob

The large professionally built garden railroad exhibits that now grace many botanical gardens in the US are built by Paul Busse and his company, [NOT Bussa].
See this link for an article from Country Living Magazine.

He lives near Cincinnati OH and was instrumental in the construction of many of the home garden railroads there, starting around 1991.

Prior to 1950, the better Saturdays spent when my father, then chief Clerk to the Superintendent of the Passenger (Scioto) Division, or some such title, were when he took me to visit again (and again) the Bussa’s model rwy shop near Friendship (would you believe), Ohio, to enjoy their huge (to me) O gauge layout. There is now a Bussa that builds show Garden Rwy layouts in the area. They have a large very nice one (“fantasy” type layout, not N&W) now at the Franklin Park Conservatory here in Columbus. I have often wondered, but did not check, if that was not part of the same Bussa family. I will enjoy reading Ken’s articles from the magazine – thank you.
