Kenneth,
N&W did not have any 0-6-0. The 1936 Rooster identifies nine 0-8-0 Shifter
Locomotive Class W6, which had 56" Drivers and 21"x30" Bore x Stroke
Cylinders. These shop switchers carried about two hours' supply of water in
a saddle tank and two tons of coal in a bunker behind the cab [(1973)
Rosenberg & Archer, Norfolk & Western Steam (The Last 25 Years), pp. 7-8].
They did have some 4-6-0s. The 1936 Rooster shows five 4-6-0 Locomotive
Class V1 - 62" Drivers and 19.5"x28" Bore x Stroke Cylinders [(1973)
Rosenberg & Archer, Norfolk & Western Steam (The Last 25 Years), pp.9-10].
I cannot find any 0-6-0s owned by N&W.
