I saw these cabs regularly when I lived in Ohio during the 70's. They were definitely painted in 3 different N&W schemes: Blue with yellow ½ moon N&W heralds, Red with white ½ moon N&W heralds, and Red with white NW. Jim is right as to the value of the book Cabooses of the N&W from the Commissary. There are pictures of these cabs in various schemes in the book.

Suggest you get a copy of Cabooses of the Norfolk and Western from the commissary (member price $39.95) Te series you are interested in are on pages 142-145 with photos of them in the 1964 scheme and the 1971 scheme. The initial repainting lasted from Nov. 1965 till December 1967. Since the blue scheme was adopted in 1966, some of them had to have been painted blue.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject of ex NKP cabooses 761 through 784. I have pictures of them in their last N&W paint with the N&W block lettering but I was wondering if any of this series caboose were painted after the merger to the circle N&W with Norfolk and Western under it. I was also wondering if any of this series was painted in the Blue with gold lettering. Thank you
George Keller
