Bill:

Microscale 60-482 is N-Scale decals (white) for N&W cabooses! In both
Roman and Gothic lettering.

I have several sheets with unused Gothic (late) lettering, the Roman
(early) lettering having been used up. I'll gladly send them to you;
you can write me via gib51 at frii.com.

I model N&W in N-Scale and know of just two commercially-produced,
prototypically-correct N&W cabooses (on the rails c.1950), both in
unpainted brass, which appeared maybe a decade ago. So you might find
them on e-bay.

They were manufactured by Overland, items 2822 and 2823, the CG and C2,
respectively.

With Bowser Pennsy N5 bodies and Kato end ironwork, roofs and cupolas I
have cobbled several creditable CHs; the windows are a little outsized,
and one day I'll get around to customizing them.

My real pride and joy are classic woodside CFs converted from spare
bodies and what-have-you. With a bounty of patience they turned out
protypically much to my satisfaction, and elicit from area rail
enthusiasts, "CFs in N-Scale!!" If you are interested, I'll send you my
work plan.

Good luck with "precision transportation" cabs!

In 1959 cabooses were painted red with black/brown roof and Norfolk and Western in Roman lettering written on the sides with the number (also in Roman) centered below it. Grab irons and handrails were painted black. I'm not a N-Scale modeler but I don't recall seeing any N&W pre-1964 merger prototype cab (caboose) models in N-Scale? (CF, CG, CH, C-1, C-30, C-3) The N&W Caboose Book published by the Society and available through the Commissary has all you ever wanted to know about N&W cabs (cabooses) and more.
