Robertson Screws? Drywall Screws?

Likewise. I cut all my lumber, lay things out in a large area (garage floor or..), put the align and attach the individual slats and sides of the bench-work grids together using a single center located nail at each joint, and then come back using long drywall screws (2 on each joint) for final assembly. I then transport the sections of bench-work to the room of railroad building for final assembly. Much less labor intense, faster, and much less expensive than using "wood screws".

I've used nothing but drywall screws of varying lengths - mainly 2" and 2 1/2". Work great, go in easy and a lot cheaper than "normal wood screws". Also less apt to strip the head if you have to change something (if?????).
