Signal Head

I'm not sure when the N&W changed to colored lenses.  But I know that in the glory days of steam all aspects of the signal where displayed in "FOG PENETRATING AMBER" not yellow like most people will say.

Well, Mac that kind of depends..

I'm sure someone here can offer more information, but depending on whether the head was the top or bottom aspect, I've seen both yellow and colored lenses.

Here's what we have on NS today, which I assume has not changed since the days of N&W:

Top aspect - top & bottom lens green, diagonal lenses yellow, left, right & center lenses red
Bottom Aspect - all outside lenses yellow, center lens red.
