Hi Mac;

The SD40-2 was first produced in 1972.

The switcher sounds like an pre-1965 EMD switcher. N&W did not get any EMD
switchers until the 1964 merger. The older EMD switchers were ex NKP and ex
WAB.

N&W did not get any diesels until 1955: eight Alco RS3 phIII units and eight
EMD GP9 ph II units.
