Since my initials are A.J., :) I'll jump in here also, admitting though I'm biased. I think the BLI sounds more like I remember 1218 sounding -- a lot more than the PCM sounds like the recordings of Y's I've heard.
And, yes, I did order one of the greatly discounted PCM Y's -- sans sound -- from PCM's "outlet store" this week, lest I sound too biased against their machine. It's the best we've got, short of brass... although the cost is near what an old PFM Y6b would run.
So, what does the other AJ think?
