Don't think it'll do you any good, Ed. The 611-613 had different trucks from the other Js. They had the same trucks as the 1235-1242 - a later Commonwealth design.

BWL J #600 has the correct Commonwealth (N&W modified?) sealed roller bearing, 3-axle trucks. The trucks on my 600 are a dead match to the trucks in the Class-J drawings of #600 in both MRs' Steam Locomotive Cyclopedia and Mainline Modeler's The Locomotive Cyclopedia. The trucks on BWL 611 - 613 are pretty bad. Maybe BWL would have trucks from their new 600-610 series for sale seperately? If so they could solve the problem with BWL 611-613. I'm going to inquire.

Now, if someone would just do the 611 with the correct tender and trucks . . .

I think we are all finally figuring it out. The crossheads if not correct (they are the laird or multibearing type) would have been a major blunder by BWL. I should have mentioned them in my initial comments on the model of #600. Guess I assumed it to be such an absolute necessity and it was correct on the model that I failed to discuss it. My oversight. Guess that once again shows what assuming gets us! Sorry Stephen, I kept looking for some else to respond to your question.

My note from this morning below:

The crossheads on BLW 600 are correctly the laird or multibearing type (did I spell laird correctly?) as they were on J's 600-604, not alligator as on J's 605 through 613 (as on BLW 612 & 613 that I have).

Thanks, Yes the crosshead. The 600 -604 had a single top crosshead with a counterweight on it. This is more distinguishable than the difference of the tenders. {see photo attached of 601 from fallen flags.}

Does the N&W J #600 model have the counter weight on the front? Please reply.

(snip) It's not worth a big debate. They're all within the variety of shades/tints seen in the old N&W color pictures! I like my PRR #14 Caboose Red!!!! Pick the color you like and be happy!
