The following info is from the Jan. 1, 1976 NW Mechanical Dept. Freight Car Equipment Guide. There are no drawings in the guide for these cars, nor is there a car class listed. Hope this helps.

Subject: Genesis 60' auto parts boxcars

The Athearn Genesis 60' auto parts boxcars have just arrived in N&W.  They did them as a paint out.  The cars are 6004xx series, classed B100-6.  They have the "N&W" reporting marks and half moon herald, so the cars would have been less than 10 years old when sold to N&W.  Anyone have any idea what they are modeled after, as far as the paint out goes?  Who would N&W have bought these car second hand from, especially at such an early date?
