If this is the 2448 cu. ft. ventilated box, several railroads had them including N&W, Southern, SAL, ACL (Atlantic Coast Dispatch), etc. I hope Jim can be prevailed upon to produce them for the other roads.

  Hi all,

For those of you modeling in HO in the 1930s-late 50s era, you may be interested to know that I have made the first shipment of Central of Georgia ventilated boxcar kits to the CGRHS. A total of 100 will be produced in the first batch and they will go fast, once their advertising gets rolling. I will post a pic of Ed Mim's beautiful pilot model once I get some time. The kits construction features 1-pc body with separate (complete) underframe and a sheet of details, including the unique vent doors and solid doors. Trucks, couplers, decals, Tichy and Grandt parts, and a 6-page set of instructions round out the kit.

This email is an advance notice to anyone interested in purchasing a kit. To do so, please contact Allen Tuten, the CGRS' President at AHTuten at aol.com. The kits will be available 4/2 at "Caboose Days", hosted by the Southeastern Ry Museum in Buford, GA. They will again be available during the prototype modelers meet in Savannah the following weekend.

These are limited run kits and available ONLY from the Society.
