10-1-1 what for?

Island Rose and Island Regal would have been painted Pullman green and
assigned to N&W until the Pullman break-up circa 1948. At that time,
N&W purchased the cars, painted them in their standard passenger
colors, and leased them back to Pullman for operation.
According to my notes and time tables, they primarily came out of New
York City, although the routeing could change. For example, in 1947,
it seems they took the PRR down to Washington DC, then the Southern's
Pelican to Roanoke, then the Cavalier to Williamson. In 1951, they
were New York to Roanoke via N&W Shenandoah Line trains 1 & 2.

They were ex-Rock Island; they also had small upper berth windows in
the letterboard.

Does anyone know the history of what these island Pullmans were? What
were they used in, seems pretty specific since there was only two.
I just re-lettered and painted this one up.
