name that curve

Yep, Roger is correct. Those fields used to be open like that, but are
grown up around the edges now, especially so in the last 20 years. That is
looking west towards Cowan. There is a signal in this curve now for
'Meadow' along with an antenna for the automatic train control, just west
of the 114 overpass.
In the left center, right above the end of the hoppers, where it looks like
a rock bluff, they cut rock out of that bluff either for the bridge, or
made gravel. Big carved out section along that bluff down there.
All the land on the right side of the tracks is Radford Army ammunition
plant. If you climb the bluff where the locomotive is, the 'Staff Village'
for the commander is up on the very top of the bluff.

I think this is a hard area to take a pic. The slide must be near mid-day.
In the mornings this is all in the shadow of the bluff and trees, until the
sun gets really high. If you are looking east, you are facing the sun, so
everything going to Bluefield is washed out.
Afternoons are hot, not much wind, river valley. Late afternoon anything
coming up the river is pretty good. It's hit or miss.
This guy did good looking west.

Here it is looking west (same way) from rt. 114 bridge, from google car
november 2024. Single track and road on right. They used to have a spur
here up to about 2000, that they used to park maintenance of way equipment
in. The antenna and signal are little west from here,

It's really has grown up now. I have a pic of the circus train here, going
west, but I can't seem to find it.
If I do, I will post it.
Have a good one,
