Frank,
You have certainly brought my memories flooding back! I remember all the details you mentioned except I forgot about the spoon trick, but I can see him doing that now. I am in the soft drink business, we have a fully staffed lab making sure all our manufactured product is within very close tolerances but those handmade fountain drinks were the best!
As young kids we weren't allowed to hang out when the after school crowd arrived so I don't recall the rock and roll—-that would have been a memory for sure.
Once I get my new license plate I will send a picture of it the the RR Depot Facebook page.
Thanks and take care, Jay

Jay,Today the "Accurate Altimeter" app on my phone agreed with 2512 at the Main Street crossing, and showed that the elevation rises about 3 feet to the western end of the Depot lot. I drove up to where the Drug Store used to be, and let the memories flow. There's Mr. Gammon, making multiple soda fountain drinks at once by diverting the stream into each glass using a spoon--always fascinated by that. Some folks are in booths while others are at the glass tables. Dr. Greiner is in the back in his little apothecary, preparing a prescription. A local boy is playing the pinball machine up front by the window, while a grilled cheese is being pushed across the counter. Around 6, the teenagers will gather to dance to some of the latest rock and roll tunes. Great times in Rural Retreat.

John, Bruce and Frank,? Thanks so much for your response. Looking at the chart John provided I've now got too many choices!? I think it's going to be either 2512 at the grade crossing or the 2580.4 high point.??John, do you know what the distance is between the vertical lines are on that chart?
Thanks again and I hope I've done the reply correctly.
