Hello Jim: I am seeing these various seekings for trackside encounter reports for NS (NW) districts in and around Roanoke, etc. I live on the NS "B" line, the former Southern Railway branch line between Manassas, VA and Harrisonburg, VA, now a main line between Manassas Jct. and Riverton Jct. Not sure if your localized reporting districts will extend this far or encapsulate trackage that is NS but not former NW.
I would be very interested in reports of traffic movements on the Radford Division (Roanoke Bristol and Bluefield) as I was an Acting Assistant Trainmaster there in another life in 1971 working various jobs then such as Ripplemead Turn, Potts Valley shifter, etc. My favorite was riding the hotshot train SCL interchange train 77 out of Bluefield usually about a 3:00 am call with about a a 5:00 am arrival in Roanoke.
Thank you.

Do you live along the Norfolk District? Doyou ever observe or hear about railroad happenings e.g. trainmovements, MOW operations or other goings on? The society wouldreally appreciate it if you would consider sending us what you comeacross about your part of the RR for use in a upcoming project.
If you might be willing to do this forthe group, please contact me at: jimdcochran at gmail.com
Thanks,
