S1/S1a Whistle Audio (NW Mailing List)

Does lower boiler pressure equal a lower pitched whistle?
The S1/S1a had a boiler pressure of 220 psi. The M (200psi) seemingly
sounds different than an A or Y (both 300psi).

For that matter, does the A/Y have a longer single note whistle than the
smaller engines like S1 and M?  I think there was a long bell and short
bell version of the hooter, right?
