The Pointed Cap discouraged birds from perching on the Signal Mast and leaving their "calling cards" on the Signal Head, Access Ladder and Service Platform.

Subject: Doll signal Here is a photo of the eastbound doll signal on the Cincinnati district east of Peebles, Ohio about halfway east of the passing siding. This was the only one on the line in 2003. I had the scoop on these signals but that was a long time ago.
