Perhaps it was the Beards Fork Branch.

I am not an expert on the VGN either.  Perhaps I should have listened a 
little closer to my Yard Master in Roanoke, Carl Bowman.   As a 19 year 
old kid I worked with him and heard many long forgotten tales of the VGN.
