NS addition to society

I joined to learn more about the N&W partly because living near Winston Salem, NC and it being a N&W and Southern served city. 
My small town was served by the Southern and before that the Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley.  When I started modeling again and taking pictures I grew fond of Coal hauling and found myself on the N&W more and more.  I have become very interested in the Pocahontas and all there branches.  I am currently studying the lines between the Pokey and there Clinch Valley.  If this NS venture bars fruit I would be interested how the current railroad is using the historic lines of the N&W.  

I recently made the trip to see Weller yard after reading the info from the group about it.  I still have to see Wilcoe as well.  Everyday we are losing more and more history and even now the time around the last merger is ancient to some people.  I really like to study history and enjoy even more being able to link what I see now to the past.

With the passing of my dear friend Cal Reynolds there is still a lot of questions about Winston Salem I have to study.  One thing Cal never 
got to show me was the supposed balloon track at the N&W north Winston yard, current NS yard.
