Menu - Hagerstown Model Railroad Club

I forgot that in 1950 N&W 13 and 14 were still running Roanoke-Hagerstown. So it’s possible the coach provided for the Hagerstown Model RR Club could have been deadheaded to and from Hagerstown on those trains.

I have menus from the Hagerstown Club’s 1950 trip to Roanoke.  Members and guests went on the trip. They traveled south in the morning, and there is a dinner menu for the return trip in the evening the same day. A friend of mine, long deceased, shot slides of the trip.  As I recall from slides, N&W provided a Pm coach, brought up the night before on train 2. Members in the club’s party could board the chartered coach in the evening and it would be added to train 1 when it came in from Harrisburg at 1:55 am. In that time frame a Pg coach Roanoke-Harrisburg was standard for trains 1 and 2. I have at least one more set of menus in my collection for another of the Hagerstown Club’s trip to Roanoke.
There is one person still living who may have memory of these trips.  I will check it out. I’m curious about how many people made the trip. A Pm coach would seat up to 60.

This must have been a large club to warrant an excursion.  I suppose this was a southbound trip to Roanoke on Train 1.

Anyone know the details?
