NWHS Archives drawing HS-T10050, dated 1/1/1893, shows a side track
labelled as "Pelton's Siding" on the south side of the main tracks where the
adjacent property owner is listed as "Virginia Lime Co. or M.C. Pelton".
The switch for the siding would have been about where the locomotive was in
the recently discussed photo, and it extended west for 1127' around the curve
and downhill. To this day there is some visible evidence of past quarrying
in that area but not enough that I would have thought they needed a siding
that long.

There was a separate siding on the north side of the tracks further uphill
for a Flour Mill owned by J. Rigby & Son. The mill was about where the
westbound signals for the Pelton crossover control point are today.
