Replacement roofing for depots and towers

FWIW, I believe the Rural Retreat Depot slate roof may have been replaced during the 1949 remodel. We think that was when the trackside tower was shortened from 2 stories to a single story. Remains of the old staircase remain inside an interior wall. A fair amount of the old slate roof, some pieces with nail holes, remains lying about in the crawl space under the Depot.
