Well, so far only two Y3's found w/o front-mounted bells; the 2049 and 
2057.

For some reason these two locos had their bells mounted boiler-center, 
directly ahead of the cab. A nice photo of 2057 in summer 1957 at 
Radford VA DS02699

The NWHS 2045 photos (minus the bell on front) show evidence that it had 
recently been removed from the smokebox front as of Aug. 1957 prior to 
scrapping. All archive, in-service-photos of 2045 show a front mounted 
bell.

Please post if you find other Y3 locos with no bell on front.
