Phil Millers suggestion of the old Rivarossi RPO roof (shortened) is the easiest kitbash you will find. I have used it before, and I have also done an M1 starting with an Athearn streamliner roof; but that one took a lot more work than using the Rivarossi.

Learning how to make the complex roof curves in CAD seems easier than a bunch of kitbashing. The issue is there are curves in 3 dimensions to be fit together. I'll get there.
There are some phenomenal help groups out there, especially on Facebook. I belong to a 3D Model Railroad group whose members are putting out some absolutely stunning work. There's a group of C&O modelers making sHO scale stations that can be printed all in one piece. The modeler is Stan Yedlowski, and he's posted this in many public groups, so I'm not sharing any secrets. He has this nearly perfected, and is working through a few issues, like curling/warping roof overhangs.
I've also seen some N&W rolling stock models that have been shared with me that rival commercial quality. Hopefully they will be sold commercially. 3d printing is a whole new world, and it will only continue to improve.

I started kit-bashing one of these a while back and for mine, I’m using an old Rivarossi streamlined RPO roof, which I think is closer to the profile, although longer than it should be, so has to be shortened.

Mike: If you are planning to start with a PRR B60b, are you aware that the roofline of the B60b is higher than the M1?

Mightn't we impose on someone close to the museum to post some good clear detailed photos since we are fortunate enough to still have access to the artifact itself?

Mike,
I have attached two photos that I hope have the particular detail you are looking for.
The first is a scan of a color picture of #90 that I purchased at a train show from Bob's Photo. It's M1 #90 at Norfolk in 1961.
The second picture is an extreme close-up of #93 after it was purchased back from the Florida East Coast Railway in the late 1960s and was painted Pevler Blue.
Finally, you may want to purchase the Archives photo https://www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail.php?ID=168757. It appears to show the seam.

I am looking for a clear picture of the center of the car side, specifically the vertical seam that is on the lower half below the windows, and also on the upper panel above the windows. There are some pictures in the archive, but the glare makes it difficult to see well. Even if I purchase them, I am not certain I will be able to see what I need. I've already purchased 5 pictures and drawings as it is.
I've attached an image that should help to show what I am looking for.
I am getting closer to finishing my HO replacement car side for the PRR B60B. I need to finish the lower rivet details and then add drilling guides for grabs.
Thanks
Mike Rector
