One Week Until the KL&L Convention
2022 Key Lock & Lantern Convention
Dear Fellow Railroad Historians & Collectors:
The 2022 Key Lock & Lantern Convention is a little over a week away, from May 5-8 at the Hotel Anthracite in Carbondale, PA. Almost 100 KL&L members and friends have already registered, with over 50 exhibit & sales tables reserved for the Saturday show. Our 50th annual convention is shaping up to be one of the biggest events ever!
There is still time to register in advance on the KL&L website at www.klnl.org. A few seats in the coach for the Friday excursion on the former D&H Penn Division are still available, along with early admission passes & box lunches for the Saturday Transportation History Expo, and the Saturday evening banquet. Seats in the private car & caboose are sold out, and reservations for show tables are now closed.
If you are exhibiting at the show and would like to order box lunches, please do so by the end of this week. If you have ordered a lunch and have not responded to Marie's email about sandwich choices, please let her know as soon as possible.
Rooms at the Hotel Anthracite are almost completely booked, so call the hotel at 570-536-6020 as soon as possible and request the Key Lock & Lantern block of rooms, if you have not yet made a reservation. Once the hotel is sold out, the nearest other options are in Dickson City and along Route 81.
If you are just planning on coming for the day on Saturday, registration is $10 at the door, which includes admission to the Transportation History Exposition and the evening programs. Several excellent presentations are already lined up, including the Pennsylvania Coal Company gravity railroad, movies of the NYO&W, 1970's railroading in New York's southern tier, and Alan Thomas photos of the Boston & Albany. If you want to bring a 20-minute presentation to show, contact Dave Hamilton at transportsim at aol.com.
The 50th annual Key Lock & Lantern Convention is going to be a great event for collectors and transportation history buffs. Don't miss out- register today!
