This is/was not in Lynchburg, each RR had its own freight station, though they were indeed downtown near the river. The N&W's freight station still exists and is now a popular restaurant. The Southern's freight station was a little further up-river near Griffen Pipe Co. I would've guessed Bristol. -Ed Burnett, Lynchburg, Virginia
