I thought that the NWHS Mailing List folks would love to see the vintage photo of Gale McKinley with her family. Gale is our BRC, NRHS Vice President as well as a Roanoke Chapter member. I got permission from her to put it in the BRC, the Roanoke Chapter and the N&WHS email lists. I think that Gale and I are members of all three railroad historical societies.

Ed Fielding brings the July program to us, which shall be the new Kalmbach production, Great American Short Lines and Regionals.  We will examine railroads that are few on mileage but large on personality and service. The Reading & Northern, Delaware-Lackawanna, Rock Island are among the lines being examined. The words "service" and "entrepreneurship" are two words heard quite often, concepts which the Class One roads seem to have abandoned these days.  Depending on time, a recent record of NYSW SD60s switching in Syracuse may be shown as well.  Come join us!
