Mike,
Having nosed around in the Archives I can tell you that N&W gave its own
classifications for trucks (as well as freight cars, passenger cars, etc.)
Having looked at some of the drawing for trucks, many have a note that they
were traced from the original manufacturer drawings.
I believe that John Pilcher, who helped design some freight equipment, also
designed some trucks while in the employ of N&W.
Yes, N&W did use Andrews trucks; see this photo of one of its USRA single
sheathed, Class BK boxcars:

On the B-1, B-2 and B-3 boxcars (the round roof PRR copies) my equipment
diagram indicates the Truck Class to be T-64. This is a truck with
coil-eliptic-coil spring package and available in HO from Tahoe Model Works
https://www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail.php?ID=24417
And here is the HO model truck:

Here is a drawing from the Archives of the spring package in the T-64 truck:

If you enlarge it, you will see in the lower left corner that it was traced
from the Symington Co drawing.
It would be handy reference for N&W and VGN modelers to have a chart that
identifies the companies' classifications of trucks to those available in
model form.
