Most of not all who read this list have at least some degree of smarts
regarding rail safety. Okay, not all, but at least most, hopefully. So
rather than speculate on speculation of all the whens, whats routes and
dates of the coming move north from Spencer, NC to Strasburg, PA, let's
stick to just the facts FIRST and foremost, and then just BE PATIENT.
Relax, gang.
*First)* 611 will be busy at Spencer this coming Thursday as it apparently
will be fired up that day. Then presuming the various crews will get AT
LEAST a good night's rest before the move, then comes the speculation.
Speculation on speculation is NOT going to get you anywhere.
*Second)* It will next be doing business in Strasburg, PA a little over a
week later. Somewhere within that window of opportunity is when the move
will take place. Presuming we won't have Capt. Jean-Luc-Picard from Star
Trek to beam the engine and its consist between those points and accomplish
the deed in 10 seconds or less, and hide it from us all, let's relax gang;
relax and I mean let's chill out, big time.
*Once the move north begins, even in the middle of the night, I can almost
100% guarantee the social media hotlines on the internet will light up like
a Christmas Tree and all you have to do is wait and watch your various
social media of your choice and then make your move trackside. Surely one
of your friends in the circle will call you, even if it's 2 am and clue you
in to what is going on. Obviously the closer you are to the start of the
trip in Spencer, NC, the shorter the window of opportunity to see the move,
but if you are that close to Spencer to begin with, you've already seen it
plenty of times. Okay, it never gets old but still, to hit the main line is
always enjoyable.*
So that said, just think relax, relax and relax and all good things will
come your way. The times and routing/s will make themselves readily
apparent at the appropriate time/s. The only thing I am almost 100% certain
of, it T'ain't gonna cross the Potomac River at Alexandria, VA and pass
thru Washington, DC. Other than that the sky's the limit and I'm not gonna
seriously try to out-guess the RR. They are running a business and will do
what they do when it fits into THEIR plans and that's that.
so gang, let's wait and not go nuts ................ at least until the
move is underway and then go out and watch (maybe?) and enjoy the 20-30
seconds as it passes you by before chasing to the next vantage point.
Hope it doesn't rain on your parade in the process.
ta-ta.
