John:By 1946, the name had been changed fromthe Electric Division to the Beach Division, so I suspectthe electric trains were no longer in operation, butif there were insufficient busses available, maybea 4-6-0 or 2-8-0 would substitute with one of NS'swooded coaches.
Incidentally, the rail busses originating and terminatingat Park Street were for commuters en route to downtownNorfolk.   Commuters were handled between ParkStreet and the bus station on Main Street by the NorfolkSouthern Bus Company.            Harry  Bundy
