My great uncle, Bill Buck, was a fireman on the Blue Ridge pusher
in the very late 50's. I once asked him what type of engines they
were assigned. He replied that they were assigned what ever was
available and ready to go out of Shaffer's Crossing. He said
that they mostly were assigned Y6's but on some (rare?) occasions
would end up with an A for the Blue Ridge pusher.
