N&W Pevler Blue Passenger with Hamburger Herald on a Target

The 511 is facing south at Chicago's Dearborn station. The flank on the
fireman's side, the east side, is in the sunshine indicating a morning
departure. This appears to be Train 111, the Banner Blue, a former Wabash
operation, departing at 10:40 a.m. for Decatur and St. Louis.

Follow the Flag!

Thanks, Ken. Looks like nearly identical to CRR cab. I forwarded your link
to the restoration honcho. Much obliged.

The Chamber of Commerce wants to replace the end lights which appear nearly
identical to the ones used on N&W C31?s (and I?m sure other cabs). See
attached pic of CRR and N&W cab for comparison.

bought today, maybe from a different company? I?ve checked McDermott
(makers of all kinds of safety lights) but nothing showed on web site.

I found this pic online of Passenger GP-9 #511 at Chicago's Dearborn Station
on November 12, 1966. ?It's gotten the full Pevler Blue treatment along with
block lettering and Hamburger Herald.
What I found interesting is that the Hamburger Herald is mounted to a
"target" on the short hood. ?This is the first Pevler Blue passenger GP-9
that I have seen with a target as I thought the passenger GP-9s lost their
targets along with their Gothic Heralds and Red Bird colors. ?But where
there's one, there must be more.
Also, I'd be most appreciative if someone could please identify the Express
car behind the 511. ?I can't make out the number, but It has REA markings in
the lower corner with a compressed N&W letterboard and tuscan red paint.
