I remember the shop whistle at Victoria sounding a lot better. Wish somebody had a recording of that one.

Might not hear this much longer, so I recorded it on May 21, 2020Rick Rader said it is controlled by a gearmotor rotary valve. That explains why the sound winds up at the start and winds down at the end.
