photo locations

 As far as the first one goes, I don't remember any place in the east yard at Bluefield with a bluff that high. Also, an excursion would be on the mainline rather than the Radford Division "pull-in" track. Both east and west main lines were south (to the right) of the yard tracks. I should know. I worked on them the summer of 1953. So I don't agree with Ken's guess. Unfortunately, I don't have a better one.

The first I believe is coming into Bluefield Yard from the east, but I could be mistaken on that.

The second is coming off the Clnch Valley at Bluefield, Va with the Pocahontas Division main line on the right.

I believe that both are excursion trips. The first is the July 1959, I believe the 611 is the last trip in October 1959 as the other negatives in the series seem to be that.
